Global Affairs Canada Scholarships for International Students 2020/2021

The Global Affairs Canada Scholarships are open for international students for the August 2020 academic session.

The main aim of the global affairs Canada scholarship program is to boost up opportunities for post-secondary institutions in Canada to give more interest to international students from any part of the world.

Applicants from abroad have a better chance to be awarded a fully-funded academic award leading to a diploma, undergraduate degree, a master's degree at a college, technical institute, and university in Canada.

Scholarship Eligibility


1. Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Comoros, Djibouti, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Liberia, Mauritania, Micronesia, Palau, Tonga, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Vanuatu. Palestinian students from the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem are the eligible countries that can apply for this scholarship program.

2. The program will be awarded for higher education in any Canadian post-secondary institutions. There is no restriction on the discipline or field of study. To be eligible, programs must be able to be completed within two academic years or less with full-time status.

3. International students from a diverse range of countries/territories and regions, to a broad range of study destinations across Canada, to various programs of study.

4. Palestinian candidate students residing in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem are eligible and may be requested to provide supporting documentation demonstrating their Palestinian identity.


How to Apply for the Global Affairs Canada Scholarships


1. To be considered for a scholarship, candidate students must first apply for admission to an academic program at a Canadian post-secondary institution of their choice. The Canadian institution will be in full control of applying for the opportunity on behalf of the student.

2. Attach these documents along with the online application form; Proof of citizenship/identity, Letter of intent from the institution, Conditional letter of acceptance, Academic plan of the proposed candidate, curriculum vitae (CV), Budget, and Privacy Notice Statement.

3. Candidate must be very proficient in English


Scholarship Benefits


1. One year duration program - $60,000CAD ($45,382USD)

2. Two years duration program - $120,000CAD ($90,764USD)

3. Visa/study/work permit fees/travel related to the collection of biometrics

4. Economy-class airfare

5. Health insurance

6. Tuition fees and mandatory expenses for the academic program for up to 20 months

7. Living expenses such as accommodation, utilities, and food

8. Ground transportation expenses, including a public transportation pass

9. Books and supplies required for the recipient’s study or research, excluding computers and other equipment.
